As the artist, I retain the copyright to all artwork I create.
When you purchase an original painting or commission from Cheyne Atelier, you own the physical artwork itself, but the copyright and reproduction rights remain with me unless we have specifically agreed otherwise in writing.
This means I may use images of the finished artwork for purposes including:
- my website and portfolio
- social media
- promotional material
- prints, cards, postcards or other products
- future licensing or commercial opportunities
For commissioned artwork, I will always aim to be respectful about how your piece is used and, where appropriate, I may discuss this with you during the commission process.
Once your artwork has been approved, I may share it as part of my portfolio and on Cheyne Atelier social channels.
If there is a particular reason you would prefer your commissioned artwork not to be shared publicly, please let me know before the commission begins so we can discuss this.
Purchasing the artwork does not give permission to reproduce, copy, sell prints of, licence, commercially use or otherwise reproduce the artwork without prior written permission from Cheyne Atelier.
Intellectual Property
The Cheyne Atelier name, branding, artwork, illustrations, photographs, written content and other creative material displayed on this website remain the intellectual property of Cheyne Atelier unless otherwise stated.
No part of this website may be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
